In Australia was the first Asian lady to become a World News presenter on SBS Television before moving onto Radio.

 

Currently, Executive Producer Hindi Programs with SBS Radio. A position held for the last 29 years. She has also worked as Producer/Director and Actor of several Indian Theatrical shows in Sydney.

 

Recipient of NSW Premier’s Award for Best Radio Reporting in 2013 and Contribution to Arts & Culture in 2011.

 

Winner of the prestigious International Australia Pacific Broadcasting union award for best External broadcast 2005 for radio documentary “Sweet Sorrow” on Fiji Indians.

 

Winner of the international Asian Award for best Radio documentary ‘Jumping the Fence’ about the dying race of Anglo-Indians. She has been nominated as an ambassador of NSW Australia Day Awards ceremony this year.

 

And above all, a foodie!! Kumud has kidly consented to join the Indian Super Chef Judging Panel this year also.
