Hon. Jill Hall, MP for Shortland (Newcastle)

Jill Hall was born in Macksville, New South Wales and she has attained a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Newcastle.

 

Prior to entering NSW Parliament, she worked with people with disabilities as a rehabilitation counsellor with the Commonwealth Government.

 

Her interest in the public life started as a Councillor on Lake Macquarie City Council from 1991 to 1995.

 

Jill Hall was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Assembly in 1995 and represented the electorate of Swansea from 1995 to 1998.

 

Jill has been a Member of the Australian House of Representatives, since October 1998, representing the seat of Shortland, New South Wales for the Australian Labour Party. She was appointed as Labour Party Whip from October 2004 to November 2012.

 

Jill has kidly consented to join the Indian Super Chef Judging Panel this year also.
